Hemet Hospice Volunteers Inc. is a locally based, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization
Founded over 30 years ago, our mission has been to promote and support the hospice mission in Southwest Riverside County. While we do not provide any clinical care, we act as a resource for families who request information on Hospice services and the many resources available to them.
More recently our efforts have been focused on our Bereavement Programs which are offered free of charge to those in our community. We are especially proud of our Youth Bereavement Program, as there is no other like it in our region. In partnership with our local school districts, we bring staff and volunteers to the school campus to conduct our youth bereavement support groups. These groups occur in both the Hemet and San Jacinto School Districts.
We end the school year with our Happy Hearts Kids Camp. This weekend camp allows children who have suffered a loss to be among their peers and learn that they are not alone in their grief journey.
We also offer Adult Bereavement Groups at no charge to the community. There is a support group that meets every Monday and is open to anyone grieving the recent loss of a loved one.
There is also a Walk-N-Talk Club for those who may have moved on from the Support Groups. These folks are now ready to take the next step in their grief journey while walking to enhance their quality of life. THey meet at the Hemet Valley Mall every day at 8:00am, five days a week. There is no charge for this, or any of our services
